Winter survival Camp occurs in early December in the Shawnee
National Forest for campers age 8-13 and at times a
a second group aged 14-16. Expect your expedition to take
place on rough off trail terrain. You will focus on teamwork
and collaboration to help you and your teammates overcome
obstacles on the course.
For those who enjoy winter camping in fierce winds and low
temperatures this camp will teach you how to stay warm. Skiers,
campers, climbers, fisherman, hunters, and anyone else who
spends winter in the outdoors will be glad to have had this
experience.
Campers should fly into St. Louis' Lambert International Airport.
Marion, Illinois is your next jump via Cape Air. A Camp D
representative will meet you in Marion for a 30 minute ride to camp.
You may also try Chicago O'Hare, Nashville BNA, or Memphis
International airport. The train station in Carbondale is also
a viable option for campers from Chicago.
