December 26th through January 2nd takes place in the deserts
of California. The expedition begins in Joshua Tree, a long-time
winter retreat for climbers. Located in a national park this 4000'
high desert rock paradise enjoys southern California's excellent
weather and provides the camper with countless granite boulders
and outcroppings. Whether your interest is low-to-the-ground
bouldering or multi-pitch routes, the variety is tremendous
and the quality is consistent.
Next, off to a secret spot for some off-road Jeeping and camping.
Rock crawling in a Jeep is a new experience for most participants.
There is often an introductory course in desert survival skills and
a Solo as part of this expedition. Campers will spend a 24 hour
period alone to reflect on themselves and their situatedness.
Finally, it is off to the mountains for a couple days camping at
7000' before returning to the airport in Ontario.
Campers should plan on flying into Ontario International Airport
the day before the expedition begins. The airport is located in
Ontario, California where you will be met by a Camp D
representative.
This trip is a great trip for any camper.
